Is Your Dishwasher Making You Sick?
I think there are a lot of malfunctioning dishwashers out there – and I think they are making a lot of people sick.

NOTICE: If you are wondering why I haven't been blogging as much and why I haven't posted any excerpts from my Detox & Heal book lately, or started back to teaching my Detox & Heal classes in the past couple weeks... this post will explain why...
It happened again. This is the fourth malfunctioning dishwasher I have encountered in the past 3 years. This is way too frequent to just be an anomaly.
I have come to the conclusion that this is happening a lot more than we realize. I think there are a lot of malfunctioning dishwashers out there – and I think they are making a lot of people sick.
Another Dishwasher Malfunction
My son and I came up to Dallas to stay with my 82-year-old mother for a few weeks when school ended for summer vacation.
I started noticing the dishes were not getting cleaned at my mom's house. Like, they were really, really dirty.
All of her dishes looked like they had dirt on them – a thin later of grainy filth.
I noticed one glass that had a lipstick stain on it. I ran it through the dishwasher twice and it did not come off.
At first I thought I was hallucinating, but then I decided to wash some dishes by hand and the difference between my hand-washed dishes and her dishwasher-washed dishes was like night and day.
Here's the before – a glass from the dishwasher:
And here's the after – the glass I washed by hand:
I knew I had to figure out what was going on with the dishwasher, so I started to investigate.
Step One: Check the Filter
I decided to start by cleaning the filter, thinking maybe that was the problem.
I looked inside and I found a very dirty filter and standing water inside her dishwasher.
You have to clean the filter every so often. I knew that. Most people don't. Honestly, they should make it a lot easier to do and the dishwasher should come with instructions.
Makes you wonder why they don't... Of course, those of us who are awake now know that they want us to be sick, so they can make more money off drugs and surgery.
And they want you to have to buy a new dishwasher instead of maintaining the one you have.
Dishwashers Used to Last 30-50 Years?
Damn. I just googled this.
My mom's dishwasher is only 6 years old. I feel like crying.
Standing Water in the Dishwasher Makes You Sick
The more I investigated my mom's dishwasher, the more I realized it wasn't just the dirty filter that was the problem.
Underneath the filter, there was standing water at the bottom of the dishwasher.
If there is standing water, that means there is a clog so I knew I needed to get inside there and clean it out.
I realized standing water in dishwashers was an issue a few years ago, in April of 2022, when was still married.
I noticed I had started experiencing persistent mucus, runny nose, cough, and was suddenly waking up every morning with dry eyes and with more fatigue.
I realized it because I had just started drinking "pool water" (chlorine dioxide solution) the month before – I started at the end of February 2022) and I was having miraculous results.
My results after starting on the "pool water":
Only needing 5 hours of sleep a night, instead of 8-9 hours a night
Woke up energetic every morning instead of exhausted
Energy all day long – until bedtime
Brain fog, gone
Dry eyes went away – I no longer woke up in the morning with itchy, watery eyes
Chronic phlegm/excess mucus disappeared
Floaters in my eyes greatly lessened
So anyway, I think that's why I noticed the dirty dishes.
I think most people are used to living with fatigue, exhaustion, excess mucus and phlegm, dry eyes, floaters, etc.
Back in 2022, when I started feeling better on the pool water, then suddenly started feeling worse again, I realized something was going on. It snapped me out of the matrix.
And then one day I cleaned the filter, and I noticed there was standing water at the bottom of our dishwasher.
This was a relatively new dishwasher – I think it was only a year or two old.
I watched some Youtube videos on how to get rid of standing water in the dishwasher. Thankfully, the videos showed me how to do it. It involves cleaning out the filter and then going in and finding whatever it clogging it and remove the clogs.
In our case, it was a few popcorn kernels and a a piece of a broken toothpick that were stuck inside – underneath where the filter is.
These tiny little pieces clogged up the system and was making dirty water recirculate inside the machine, which was making us sick.
My Health Issues Disappeared
After I fixed the dishwasher, all my health issues disappeared. Like, within DAYS.
Most people have no idea their dishwasher filter is even dirty or that there may be standing water. And that it might be making them sick.
I have had this happen now in 3 different houses so, like I said, I think it's probably very common.
The fourth dishwasher malfunction I encountered...
I also had it happen to a friend of mine – her whole family kept getting sick all of the time. This was going on for weeks.
Turned out they had standing water at the bottom of the dishwasher.
Bad Manufacture of Modern Dishwashers
Another time, so this was the 5th dishwasher... this was back in 2018... I noticed our dishes were not getting cleaned and I called a repairman to come.
It turned out there was a piece of plastic on the plastic door inside the dishwasher that had broken off. It was the door that holds the dishwashing detergent or detergent pod in the little box where you put it.
This is supposed to get triggered after the initial draining, and then the door pops open and it releases the detergent at the right time. Well, because that little plastic piece broke off, the pod was just getting dumped out as soon as I closed the door, and all the detergent was getting rinsed out with the initial draining.
And so there was no soap was being used on our dishes.
What! Crazy, right?
I couldn't believe that dishwashers are designed so badly that a piece like that – which is so important – was made out of cheap plastic and could easily break off.
The dishwasher repairman told me that this was one of the most common things he saw breaking in modern dishwashers. He said, "I see it all the time."
Why Are Dishwashers So Badly Designed?
Why do appliance manufacturers suck so bad at designing them? Why make it so hard to get inside there and see if there is standing water and make it so hard to clean the filter? This should be easy to access.
And why would you put Phillip's head screws on a piece of equipment that needs to be removed on a regular basis in order to clean the inside?
It was a Torx screw apparently. I went to the local hardware store and showed him the photo I took.
He gave me four different screw heads that might work. Sadly none of them did.
How crazy is this? We can't even easily get inside of our dishwasher to find a clog?
Made in China
All of the repairmen I have spoken to over the years have said that said older dishwashers used to be much better. "All the new appliances are made in China, and they don't last."
When appliances were made in America, they lasted for decades. Now you're lucky if they last a few years.
Good thing Trump is bringing manufacturing back to the USA.
Now I'm Washing All the Dishes By Hand
It was two days ago that I started noticing the dirty dishes and started trying to solve it.
I've been washing all the dishes by hand, and soaking them in a large bowl with water with chlorine dioxide.
Bleach is what they used to use – but it is toxic.
Chlorine dioxide is a much better solution. Because it is not carcinogenic like bleach. And it kills all the bacteria and fungi.
Oregano Oil to the Rescue
I honestly don't know if I would have realized that the dishes were not getting cleaned properly if I hadn't gone through this so many times in the past few years.
Within the past week, a lot of the symptoms I had when I got sick before with broken dishwashers started to come back – which is why I noticed:
Fatigue and exhaustion
Waking up tired, staying tired all morning
Needing 8-10 hours per night
Heartburn and gas, feeling bloated
Mucus/phlegm
Like I said, most people don't even notice because they are living in the matrix. They are sick all the time and they don't know that it could be something as simple as their water and their dishwasher.
A fish doesn't know what water is because a fish doesn't know what water isn't.
I honestly think God is trying to show me what is making people sick.
I got some oregano oil capsules (thank you to my friend Jodi who lives here in Dallas and met me for coffee for the hookup).
It's only been a day on the oil and I already feel a lot better. Still burping and gassy but my energy is back.
Hopefully I'll be back to my old self again within a few days to a week.
Can't You Just Hand Wash Your Dishes?
For those of you who say you wash your dishes by hand and don't need a dishwasher, nope, that is not a good idea.
I tested the temperature and I could only get the water in my mom's house up to about 138 degrees F.
That's not hot enough to kill germs. 170 degrees F at 30 seconds will kill germs. If the temperature is lower, you have to soak a lot longer. Or soak in some kind of bleach.
My mom told me that when she was young they didn't have dishwashers so they washed all the dishes by hand.
She said they had the two sinks set up – one for with hot water for sudsing with dishwashing liquid, one for soaking in hot water with bleach, and then you would dry them. That's why most older kitchen sinks have two basins instead of one.
Modern dishwashers are designed to kill germs.
But if the dishwasher malfunctions, you're screwed. And you don't even know it.
Problem Solved – With More Money
I ended up solving the problem today by just buying my mom a new dishwasher with my Lowe's card.
Luckily, I had just finished paying off the washer and dryer I had to buy last summer at the slumlord landlord rental.
So now I'm paying for this dishwasher. It's fine. It needs to be done.
I lost almost everything when I got cancelled in 2019 by Big Tech and my ex-husband stole the house and my life savings.
We are all struggling right now (well except people like my ex-husband LOL).
Right now my mom needs me.
I'm glad I was here to realize this was going on. And I know God will provide for me.
Because God sent me. And I answered the call. And I trust in Him. Completely.

I am struggling right now because I lost almost all my social media accounts due to Big Tech censorship which wiped out 90% of my income back in the summer of 2019.
I'm a single mom with two kids to support. My husband of 16 years divorced me in 2022 and took the house and our life savings and left me over $300K in debt.

I have NEVER used a dishwasher, and I never will (I use my current dishwasher for storage).
I mean, just how dirty are your dishes? Handwashing in hot water is plenty sufficient
had a new townhouse in 2000s -- nothing but problems, including dish washer flooded entire first floor twice, air conditioner leaks, sprinkler recall, etc (all within the first year) builder did come back and replaced the floor and carpet. In next house (old), ever since, washed dishes by hand. good exercise too.
Will try bleach when washing high risk such as items used by raw meat and order ClO2 kit.
