This sounds like a great recipe to try! My only issue is I'm trying to minimize sugar so I'm wondering if I could play with decreasing the syrup amount or if this quantity is a minimum requirement for shelf stability (hyperosmolarity and all).

The sugar is good. There is no evidence sugar is bad for you.

some people are dealing with blood sugar issues so sugar can be quite problematic for them.

Blood sugar has to do with heavy metals and EMFs, not sugar.

Please see this post: https://annmariemichaels.substack.com/p/diabetes-obesity-and-emfs

After the Native Americans were put on reservations and started eating loads of white flour and sugar, they did not develop obesity and diabetes until AFTER the reservations were electrified. Most likely they were vaccinated as well (aluminum, mercury) which causes us to be more conductive of EMF radiation.

Having drunk a lot of stuff, including pastis, I can assure you that the best way to drink pastis is in a tall glass with ice, and some chilled spring water to dilute it. It isn't meant to be drunk neat. Once mixed, it will have no more sugar than a weak cordial, and probably less than an electrolyte drink. It really is an aperitif, not something you would chug quickly all afternoon. Like a mint julip, it should be savoured, sipped, stirred, until the ice has all melted. And the sugar will aid absorption of the good elements.

Isn't that what I said?

Yay! Mine just finished seeping so I can finish it today and have a glass tonight at l'heure de l'apéritif. I think I will go lift weights at the gym first and this will be my reward.

Hi ANN-Marie, have you heard of Dr. Jennifer Daniels protocol for killing parasites' with turpentine?

I remember reading a book by Dr. Hulda Clark and that protocol for killing parasites' works really well too.

Thank you for the recipe, I will try this as I have all those herbs already just not the booze lol. Question, if made without the sugar it is not as palatable I assume?

Yes you need to add the sugar

Hooray for Ann-Marie! I’m on the lookout for Ricard Pastis now! I have heard of Pernod, but not tried it…nor did I know of the health benefits. Merci Beaucoup! 🩵

Quantity question: recipe calls for "2-1litre bottles Everclear or about 5cups". A 1.75 litre bottle is just over 7 cups. Confused about your ratios- can you clarify? Assume you meant don't use all 2 litres alcohol? Stick to 5 cups??

Recently went to local liquor store to make this. FYI to all..Everclear now rivals Vodka in price. Might as well use vodka. I highly recommend Monopolowa vodka as recommended by my naturopath/colon hydrotherapist as it is made from.potatoes and not wheat. Much easier on the gut microbiome. Also easy on the budget.

Also thanks to the author for posting! Yes about parasites and cancer. A well.kept secret by the medical cartel.

This is officially going to be my Christmas gift to the few friends/FAM that are stepping outside TheIllusion show.

I thought sugar causes cancer, or at least cancer feeds on sugar. Would a substitute work? Probably not. Still want to try this.

Sugar does not feed cancer. Worms feed on sugar and worms (parasites cause cancer). But if you don't have worms, sugar doesn't hurt you.

Very interesting. I've become interested this year on improving my gut biome and drinking raw kefir and yogurt, but wondering if I have parasites and/or worms. Pastis is intriguing.

It is ~190 proof grain alcohol. Great for making your own cold compounded drinks. It is illegal in a lot of states because it somehow makes college kids binge drink less if it is unavailable? Those states will often have 151 proof vodka, in addition to 151 rum, to replace it. There are other brand names as well, but everclear is in the US kinda like saying “kleenex”, it is a brand so ubiquitous in its niche as to be synonymous with what it represents.

You can also use coffee filters instead of cheese cloth or whatever, they just clog easier and you have to wait or use another one. Another great drink to make in this way is krupnikas, for those who are interested.

It's a kind of alcohol. Similar to vodka. You can find it at liquor stores.
